Wanted to share this with all of you...um, buh-bye Hondata???

http://neptune.evans-tuning.com/index.php

A new 'Editor' program out there on the market. James always kept pretty quiet and now it seems as if he is aligning with Boosted-Hybrid (smart move ;)) and hopefully his program will now become a little more well known.

I have heard it will be approx. $500 total which includes the program and tuning. 10x more options than Hondata as well.

Whatcha-all think?

That is alot of features. I'm just curious how they would all work at the same time with such a limited amount of available pins on the ECU?

For various features I believe there will have to be slight modifications...but the tuner will take care of all that for you.

Dont be madd...this is how he makes his living.

It's basically Hondata plus 10x more...for half (or less) of the Hondata price.

Re:Wanted to share this with all of you...um, buh-bye Hondata???

not really sure...

i'd go on the forums and ask James (HRtuning)

you can definitely get it through Jeff Evans (Boosted-Hybrid) now if you're near the PA area and I believe James is located in AZ

Wow. Looks like a very polished GUI. One of the greater benefits of Hdata, is the VERY user friendly interface and its overall stability. Sounds like this is going to be marketed towards tuning/dyno shops and not he DIY'er? I think thats a very smart way of doing things for sure. Kinda like Hdata, letting the shops handle the cust. service.
Has this been extensively tested, and all features known working. Particularly ECT, and IAT trims?

Curious if he is a member on PGMFI.org?

Dave

Yes Leed, you must know him...Smooth1 on PGMFI, James...gives a few hints here or there on H22 stuff.

Just happens to be a very talented all around coder. Lucky for him :P

i was just wondering because i havent seen anybody that is using it

Re:Wanted to share this with all of you...um, buh-bye Hondata???

There are plenty of people using it, just on a much smaller scale.

But James has been tuning cars for years and i think he has been using his own software for the past few years at least. No one gets the software except dyno shops (starting recently) so of course you arent going to have heard of it.

Thus, why I made the post...so you would :-*

At least it is getting a better response here than on HT. LOL. Seriously, that ---- is getting out of hand over there. Anyway, props to James. Hopefully he will make it enduser friendly in the future, and by some of the comments he made on HT, it might be possible. :)

MikeJ-2009 10-13-2004 02:36 PM

Re:Wanted to share this with all of you...um, buh-bye Hondata???

Yeah, I read the whole HT thing about it, and that Geoff guy (the marketer) said that unless your boosting over 28psi, this program won't benefit you any more than Uberdata/turboedit, ect.
So then it would only be beneficial to (pretty much) drag teams only according to his words. But then he says that you can only get it/tune it at an authorized shop.

It just seems that for the street driven 15psi car, the cost vs. benefit is way off here. ???

Re:Wanted to share this with all of you...um, buh-bye Hondata???

I think Geoff isn't very bright either. Says cars will make more pawer and go faster with this program. Whatever, its still honda code, you can only modify it so much. Regardless this is best for people that would buy hondata and take their car to a tuner and have it tuned. Bad part is, for the consumer that is, you can't get your car to the dyno unless you run the stock injectors since you have no fuel management. I'm not sure what they are going to do about that.

Re:Wanted to share this with all of you...um, buh-bye Hondata???

Well of course its going to get flammed on HT when Full-Hype announces it as "the future of OBD-1 EMS" ::)

I think its a good program and I hope he does good with it. Its just kinda ironic that it looks so nice but noone will ever see how it looks besides screen shots. :-\

Basemaps will obviously be given out on pre-burnt chips...I am assuming at least.

Re:Wanted to share this with all of you...um, buh-bye Hondata???

Like stealth said, what secret can they possibly have. I think that people should focus on OBD II stuff and do that. If you are a DIY'r you use uberdata, if you have the $$ you run hondata. That is the OBD I world. If he could get into OBD II that would be something else entirely.
