Vtec oil pressure sensor code 22?? wtf

1 Attachment(s)
I'm still in the process of working the bugs out my z6 build in my 91 HF CRX. My latest problem has been that after I make a pull I, when I let off the throttle I get a code 22 which is vtec oil pressure. Later that day (July 4th) I talked to JD who said it was a lack of oil. I checked my oil and the level was fine. I then pulled a vtec solenoid off another motor I had laying around and replaced the solenoid on my car. I have not had a chance to drive the car since. The only other thing I could think of that would be wrong is the way I have vtec wired back to the jumper harness. I currently have the green vtec wire ran to the designated wire on the jumper harness and did the same with the blue wire from the vtec oil pressure sensor. I figured the black wire was a ground and wired grounded it on one of the vtec solenoid bolts....Is this right? Should it be grounded on the chassis? Below is a pic

I am not sure what the black wire is without looking. And I am not going to look until you try this new solenoid out.

Other things that it can be are just a dirty solenoid. clean out the passages and contacts a little then try again.

What would be the best thing to clean the solenoid out with? brake clean?

brake/carb whatever you have that is high pressured can

You can disable that sensor with a piece of wire

Please explain........ Do I bridge some pins or something??

Try grounding to thermostat housing.

ya you can bridge both vtec wires together
search ht for the ecu pin info

For anyone who might'v been wondering, its pins A4 and D6 that get bridged together. Now one last question, Does the ground wire from the vtec pressure sensor need to be grounded still??

Re: Vtec oil pressure sensor code 22?? wtf

Well I checked over my wiring one more time and changed my ground wire from the solenoid to grounding on the chasis...still throws a code 22. Tomorow I'm going to install an oil pressure gauge.

How much pressure is a d16z6 supposed to run at at idle and WOT???

If I have good pressure I'll bridge the pressure sensor w/the vtec line....Man this car's a pain in my ass.
