vtec conversion p06 question
 

i just got an ecu from minor threat and it has vtec added.. well looking on xenocrons website the vtec conversion this is what i found:

conversion 1720

In spot RM11,

This is tricky…follow carefully. (Holes are figured left to right, ECU plugs are on the left)
From pin 1 to 2...10k ohm (Gold, orange, black, brown)
From pin 2 to 3...51K ohm (Gold, orange, maroon, green)
From pin 3 to 8...12K ohm (Gold, orange, red brown)

and in Q26 the resistor is a different one than Q30 and all the rest in the line...

only the last resistor was soldered in the correct way.. if they have to be in line in that color order??? could this be why it will not even fire the motor??? i'm lost and i feel like i just wasted money on something that won't work.. lmk

also it says nothing about J12 and its removed on this one.. i'm just trying to figure this all out!

are the resistors to the right pins? there is no direction if that's what you mean, the colors can be backwards no problem

j12 is for half duplex or full duplex datalogging. it needs to be removed for programs like crome style datalogging to work.

transistors come in all types of different packages, if you're worried do a google search for the part number and check to see if its pnp or npn, then look at pgmfi and see what q26 should be

Does it have a bin burned for your car? are there any cells?

The items that would be directional ones.

There is a chance that he just grabbed the wrong transistor for your board, or put the right one in backwards. The quickest way to check if it is backwards is by the little circle/dimple on the back of the transistor. It should face the same direction as all the others on the board.

The motor should still fire up even if there is a problem with the Vtec addition. I would focus on using a known working file, or just cut J1 and plop the ECU in some stock car if that is an option.
