very odd problem

here is the setup
93 civic ex
p28 that came stock in the car and has been running chipped for the past 3 years
ostrich 2.0
crome free

i drove the car to work and back yesterday on this .bin i am using now. the car was sitting idleing just fine as we were loading up to get a good street tune on the car. nobody touched anything and out of nowhere the car dies and the CEL comes on. my first thought was that the ostrich got pulled out of the socket. i checked it out and it was fine. just to be sure i pulled it out and put it back in and i also tried reloading the .bin to the ostrich. same problem. when i turn the key on none of the dash lights come on except the CEL and the fuel pump doesnt run. hoping that maybe just my ostrich died( should be a warranty on it right?) i burned a chip with the same .bin and it does the same thing. i looked at all of the fuses under the hood and they are fine. i also looked over my ecu for anything that might have shorted or burned up but there are no signs of a problem.

hopefully i can either get a hold of another chipped p28 to try or try mine in another car. maybe i will try cutting J1 and see what happens. it wont run due to my 650cc injectors but at least maybe the pump will run and it will sputter a little bit so i can narrow down the problem

Re: very odd problem

would that also cut ignition? i shot some starting fluid in there and got nothing.

i have never acctually had the infamous main relay problem out of like 10 hondas i have owned

Re: very odd problem

i got out my trusty test light and there is good 12v going to the main relay but nothing when i turn the key on. does the ecu send the signal for the relay to come on? if so i am pretty sure my ecu took a ----. i am starting to think i should have been using a resistor box with my injectors.

Check your grounds????? You can get manuals at www.hondatech.info. Get the etm for your car and go at it. You only have to use a resister box if you are using low impedance injectors. You should still get spark if that was the case.

the injectors had like 10 ohms and i know i dont have spark or fuel. i have the helms manual in pdf. its just a pain in the ass to look through

check your ecu fuse? if you didnt use a resistor i thnk your ecu may be lil fucked up but its fixable

car is a 93ex. all the info is in the first post.

what gets messed up if you dont use a resistor box when you should. i chipped the ecu myself, im sure i could replace bad parts. i am really leaning towards that problem. the car has run probably a total of 1 hour with those injectors in and then it died. i am really leaning towards that

If your 650's are 10-12 ohms they are high imp. and dont need a resistor box.
