Venting to Atmosphere with Wideband
 
So currently my wastegate is venting to the air, and does not return to my exhaust. If I'm trying to tune with a Wideband O2 (Just bought and Innovate LC-1) will this mess up my readings? Do I need to get my wastegate plumbed into my exhaust (something I've been planning on doing, just been too cheap to do it)?

I have been driving for two years with your exact set up with a daily driver. I have never had a problem. I have been tuning between 11.8 and 12.3 afr in boost pass 3psi on a stock b16a2 up to 7.2psi currently. My goal is to keep it around 12 afr in boost. As soon as i get a clutch i will boost to 9psi. My waste gate blows off right under the hood. I use 3 methods of street tuning, don't just rely on the wideband. I use the wideband, det cans, and i pull my spark plugs and read them. The plugs never lie! You will be able to tune pretty acurately with the wideband and a wastegate A-out but i know what you are saying.

Keep it venting to atmosphere, they sound nice and nasty like that.
Almost everyone I know vents to atmosphere and I'm talking guys running 25-39psi of boost and running 9s - 11s!

Readings will not be affected since the only time the wastegate is open the exhaust gases are leaving it in a hurry. The only way it could affect readings is if outside air made its way into the exhaust and past the o2 sensor indicating a false lean condition. Something like an exhaust leak can however cause inaccurate o2 readings since exhaust comes out as a pulse. Air can get sucked in between these pulses and be read by the o2 sensor, again being false lean. This is more apparent during idle and part throttle.
