vafc with uberdata
 

can I run uberdata with a vafc installed, and what do I need to be able to use uberdata, my ecu is already chipped with a chip from ebay what else do need to use this program? this is very important please give all the info you can.

Yes you can but why would you? Your ECU needs to be capable of removing the ecu numerous times...you need a zif socket. Go here read the FAQ, then go to the forum.

the chip I have installed is removeable, and reason for the vafc its already installed, I cut my dash, so dont want to remove it and I dont want to something that dont serves a purpose, I also have a btm installed, so basically all I would need is map sensor bypass, and every recomend against using a missing link, so I would like to try uberdata with the vafc, I would be able to make minor adjustment with it on the fly... anything on btm do I have to get rid of that also, plus remember I dont have access to a dyno.

So you would inhibit proper functionality of your ECU so that you "don't have to removel" previously installed items.


...interesting, I should have done that with my customer's DPFI -> MPFI swap. Just tried to get it to work with the other manifold, instead of "removing" the old one.... hrm.

sell the vafc..sell the btm ....stick with the msd ignition though. Get a Zif socket for the ecu...being removable doesn't mean it has a zif socket.
Does it have the socket with the lever on it or just a IC socket?
Acctually you need to go do some reading...and stop waisting money on stuff you don't need.

I still have my SAFC hooked up, and I am using Uberdata. I have the map correction at 0% across the board. It's useful at least to monitor map sensor and rpms together. And if for some reason the car is idling really shitty you can adjust your 1krpm fuel settings +/- 5% to fix it on the fly. :P Next up though, is some proper Uberdata tuning (just guessing so far) and I will probably just sell the SAFC at some point.

Wouldn't it be nice to run a vafc with uber cuz everytime you want to change something you have to reburn. This way you can just change on the fly. I guess if it's tuned right you wouldn't have to change anything. :P

The thing with the AFC is it _doesn't_ "change" anything.

It makes the ECU think you're at a higher or load engine load for more, or less fuel by adjusting your MAP sensor voltage. This inversely adjusts your ignition timing as well.

Where does it get the data from that gives it "more fuel" or "less fuel" under these false engine loads? ..the fuel maps. So it's using the data that's already there.

_Yes_, tune the maps right, and you shouldn't need an AFC.
