vafc question
hey guys if i run the vafc hack, i know it advances the hell out of the ignition timing. does retarding the timing at the distributor help this out at all, any way to beat or lessen the timing advance?

Re:vafc question
Most people retard it at the dizzy a bit, i also have an msd btm along with that.... But i hate the hack now, save yourself the money, and go tubro edit or uberdata if your obd1, cant waiti til i get my ---- to swap.

Re:vafc question
most likely i will be running a turbo edit or ghettodyne program that runs the 450's so the hack doesnt have to, i will be using the vafc to fine tune the fuel a bit and control vtec since i have nothing but a switch that does.

Re:vafc question
you can just fine tune your fuel and set you VTEC points with turboedit

Re:vafc question
Yeah, apparently its better to use some sort of switch outside of turboedit to run vtec, read that in another post, now if you were obd1 and using uberdata, then yeah, but use the vafc with turboedit, good combo, incase you need to make any quick changes while driving you can just use the vafc....

You keep the VAFC for vtec engagement and fine tuning, if you so wish, as y49crxsi said. All you need to do is take the low cam maps from the pr3, import them into the pm6 rom below your vtec point, then take the high cam maps and import them into the pm6 rom above your vtec point. Do this for both fuel and ignition. For example, if you want your vtak point at 5000, import the low cam maps into the pm6 code below 5000 and import the high cam maps above 5000. Its as simple as that. Keep in mind that this will be a base map and some adjustment may be needed within the maps at the vtec point to smooth the transition. You are going to have to use a v-afc or msd rpm activated swtich or some other means of activation for vtak. . |
