VAFC on Civic Si question

I was looking around at how to install one of these things on my friends '91 Civic Si and I got some contradicting information.

http://www.hasport.com/Tech/Wring/Co...1%20DX-SiR.htm
According to this the MAP sensor is C11, but when I look in the ECU wiring diagram for the 88-91 Civic Si it shows C11 being a whole mess of things noneofwhich being the MAP sensor. According to the book, MAP sensor would be C15 or C6. Yet people wired it up by using the information from that website?

All I need to know is should I just follow the book or just follow that guide which contradicts the book?

In that guide it says that the MAP is C15...

There are three wires to the MAP...ground, 5v ref and feedback signal to the ECU.

C11 - 5v (MAP)
C15 - feedback (MAP)
C14 - Ground (MAP)

That link is correct. I've used it to hook up AFC's.

Another question, I got it installed fine but now when ever it's plugged in the car will just bog out after 10 seconds or so. I didn't mess with any of the fuel settings so is there something I'm missing?

Was this a new VAFC or used? I beleive it's possible for a previous owners settings to stil be in the VAFC. There is a setting in there somewhere you can clear them and start over.

Brand new so there are no previous settings. I accidentally hooked up the presure sensor wrong so I fixed that but now the car will smoke if the VAFC is hooked up. It stays running but instead just smokes and bogs. Is there some set up I missed?

make sure you have the pressure sensor on 6in/6out. also make sure you have it set for a 4cylinder and the arrow to the up/right position.

TiCal is right, make sure it's setup that way and there should be no problems. What injectors are you running? Stock 240's? Wiring is very critical when using these AFC's. My first install I reversed the 2 airflow wires and had the same problem. Hopefuly you didn't do any damage to the AFC.

Haha, I messed it up. Accidentally mixed the presure wire positions up. Works like a charm now. ::)
