vafc?

My friend is having problems with his vafc.

One we keep getting a map code .We have tried a single check valve but in my mind this will keep the map at max vacuum and it still codes. We have tried putting a little hole in the vac line after the check valve this also failed. I have read up on what is called a missing link will this help I have read that thy do not work as desired. What I have noticed his vacuum fluctuates between 17 and 15 at idle. I have a vac pump if I hold 18 smooth at the map we do not get a map code at idle. So I made a little vac canister in line with the map we now have 16 smooth and we do not get a code until we hit boost (crazy idea but it works a little).

Two what is vtm signal what ever it is we do not have it hooked up Is this a problem and what dose vtm stand for.

Related info we have a d16z6 a d16z6 computer and a d16z6 harness. We are only running 8 pounds and are using 450 injectors and a rise rate fuel pressure regulator (I do not remember the technical info on the rise rate regulator). On the wide band we are running lean at 4000 rpms and above this is about the time the code hits(surprise limp mode).

Any help would be greatly appreciated don’t slam me to hard.

Re: vafc?

vafc's are almost as inferior as fmu's. sell the vafc and you can ship the ecu and still have money left over. thats the only fix

Ya vafc are crap. Just for info how do the missing links work? I hear thy relive all boost pressure to the map so you computer only sees atmospheric pressure 3.1 v but I hear thy are crap too some times stick.

So crap+crap=crap.

This is probably a typical question but what company will be the cheapest for the ecu mod? ( I have read all the stickys now this site is bad ass)

yea, xenocron FTW when it comes to engine manegement. you can buy prechipped ecu's or get a kit for cheap and do it yourself

Re: vafc?

Is soldering it in a pain in the ass ? Is there a Diy ? Do we have to tune it or is there a re flash that is close to what we are using ?

I am still new with all this I will be using the magic search button up top but some of you probably have the answers off hand.
