using crome, uberdata, etc. on a different make engine possible?

Hi,

I perhaps have a stupid idea but what about the following:
I have a non honda engine. Do you guys think that it's possible to convert to Honda management and then use crome, uberdata or a different EMS to tune the engine?
Do you perhaps know of a non-honda engine which is using this?

regards,
John

anythings possible

however it doesnt seem too practical. look into megasquirt instead.

Sensors and ignition would have to be identical to honda to work.

Like Fook says, look into Megasquirt

Actually, any Honda sensor can be pushed over... and used to run a different motor... however...

The distirbutor becomes the limiting factor. I actually researched this idea for http://www.ProjectAE86.com and found that the distributor was my only limitation. Now, if you have some slight skill in fabrication, you should be able to make the distributor work... seeing as I don't, well... I'm stuck as of yet. :)

But to answer your question... as long as you can adapt the distirbutor, you can run Honda anything.. (Remember, though,, Hondas run backwards.)

I recently tossed around the idea of running a friends 4age on a Honda computer, and the distributor is the main obstacle. Not exactly plug and play. With limited thought put into the whole idea, I think a good choice of action would be to disassemble a Honda dizzy and fab up a way to put the 3 pickups/wheels on the Toyota distibutor. Might end up with a funny looking dizzy, but who cares. Easy as pie speed density tuning on a 4AGE would have it begging for boost yo'

As far as the whole Hondas spin backwards thingy, who cares as long as the firing order is still 1-3-4-2.

Maybe we can come up with something... I'll get lots of pictures, and run some ideas by you. If we can come up with something, maybe i can have my fabricators make two distirbutor adapters, and you can pick one up.

I'll be ordering my 20v in the next week or so.. when it comes in, lets work on it.

As for wiring the chassis, that ---- is cake.
