use vote meter to tune the car?

i just set up an afc hack, i was wondering can i fine tune the car with a vote meter. i was thinking using the vote meter and tape it into the O2 sensor. i know that the o2 sensor see voltage from .1 to .9 vote. i would just take away or add fuel from what i see from O2 sensor. would this be accurate enough?

no. the stock o2 sucks for tuning turbo'd hondas. it really only reads 13 - 15 afr while a turbo safe afr is around 12. u need a wideband o2 to tune properly. Most wideband o2's come with their own readout as well.

a vote meter will never work. now, and applause meter, maybe

Anyway. A stock narrowband O2 sensor uses fast switching to determine where the engine is at. 14.7 AFR is optimum for a lot of reasons, but power isn't one of them. For the computer to get a good signal, the voltage will jump from rich to lean to rich etc.. hundreds of times a second. Reading every pulse of the engine. if the computer is seeing rich, rich, rich. then it leans out, and when it goes lean, lean, lean, it adds fuel. until it sees rich, lean, rich, lean, rich... etc.

Where as a wideband o2 is linear, and you can actually see what AFR you are running. Problem is, that you need a controller circuit for it.

afc's have a blue wire that can be tapped into the o2 sensor wire that will show the sensor voltage. its not ususally used on hondas. the reading can be found under sensor #2 in the etc menu of the afc. (after the wire has be hooked up. even thoe it will be pointless.

i hook up the blue wire from the afc to the ecu. it don't really do much. i have to cut the wire at the ecu and connect one side to the afc and leave the other wire hanging. is that right? i follow the book. if the wire i cut at the ecu is for the o2 sensor, then wouldn't the chek engine light come on, cuz i left the wire at the ecu hanging?

Uhm. Your supposed to tap the blue wire into the wire for the o2 sensor at the ecu. Not cut it. Then go into Sensor Check and itll display the voltage of the o2 sensor.
