::update::TE Boost cut...dammit! almost got it!!!

So i had my old basemap imported to NG48 and im still getting boost cut at 10 psi. Is this common with TE? Does Uber have the same Problem? i really dont want to have to limit myself to only 9.5 psi of boost :P

someone please chime in cause im lost here.

Julio

What map are you using right now? Have you tried any of the ones on Xenocrons site?

Try the "D15Boost" bin. That one worked pretty good for me. Also try the "ng48_rory" ones.
http://www.-------------/bins/index.p...tory=TurboEdit

I would take some timing out on the top of the D15boost bin though.

Are you checking the "Boost cut" box?

I thought if you checked the boost cut box it would cut off at a certain PSI. ??? so does it have to be checked or unchecked????

OH and i would use one of theose rory bins but i dont have 450's and you cant scale down to a smaller injector

Whether its checked or not doesnt matter...doesnt affect ----.

Make sure you download the ORIGINAL NG48.bin file directly from TurboEdit.org and copy/paste your maps. Dont IMPORT/EXPORT....copy paste.

If that doesnt work you have other problems...

Re:TE Boost cut...dammit! not again!!!!

Ther eis a reason he is having you copy and paste.

Not that any of you will understand this, but it's teh pressure remap table that was causing the boost cut. When you import/export, it transfers the remap table into the new bin. 99% of the itme, you need the remap table to be copied with your bin so that your tune is how you tuned it. But, in this instance, that *VERY* old bin has a busted remap table.

Do as he says, copy, and paste.

Re:TE Boost cut...dammit! not again!!!!

another question, what if i just redo the map using NG48 and use Xenecrons basemap write up? will that work?

would i have to use the excell thingy???

Chris Harris 02-14-2005 12:03 AM

Re:TE Boost cut...dammit! not again!!!!

You'd have to use my Excel basemapper thingy as TE doesnt understand how to interpret the fuxored column headings and it cant do its fancy little calculations without proper column headings.

so TE has Issues then... :-\ i guess im gonna have to learn how to use your basemap helper then.

Re:TE Boost cut...dammit! not again!!!!

TE doesnt have issues...the NG48 ROM was released after the last revision of TE. TE can open & edit the file, it just was never told how to interpret the different column headings (remap table) so it cant use its integrated functions.

I'm guessing it will shortly though hopefully and when that time comes I plan on writing a 'Basemap' plugin for TE to make it easier and not dependant on having Excel.

well then i guess ill wait for that to happen then, in the mean while, ill try using your excell thingy! do i still follow the instructions in your write up? but use the difficult way instead of the easy way?

Re:::update::TE Boost cut...dammit! almost got it!!!

OK so now here is my other dilema..

i did the basemapper thing but when i open NG48 its already set for 450cc injectors and im running 390's

can i just do the Xencron write up with all the steps and then just copy and paste the basemapper stuff after i adjust ignition, injector size ETC???

Re:::update::TE Boost cut...dammit! almost got it!!!

dont worry about what button is checked...it runs the maps you put in TE

ummm ....ok so if i copy and paste ( the base mapper numbers ) them to NG48 regardles off wether its set to a 450 or 390 injector size i should still be ok? it wont affect the amount of fuel needed?

I know this can be frustrating to you seeing as how this is easy for you but theis is a bit more complicated for me :P

thanks for the help ::thumbs up::

The "injector size" does not matter. According to TE, I run 240cc injectors.

it runs the maps you put in there Julio...the ECU doesnt look at what injector button is checked.

that button is only there for calculation (math) purposes
