UberData Question
 

I'm really trying to suppress the urge to ask a million questions, but I can't, ha ha... ;D

P28, chipped with Uberdata 1.8. AT29C256 chip with one of ProjekTuning's home brewed D series maps.

First installed, everything is cool. I set up my PLX M300 wideband, not to ECU. Rich, but good.

Switch WB O2 to ECU & disconnected NB O2 (without the capacitors - is that bad? ???), set closed loop disable & O2 heater off. Burned chip, ran like ----. Tried a new burn, and it runs ok.

Run back inside, grab my laptop and datalogging cable. Hook everything up, set the COM port, all that ----..

Now I'm stumped... What am I looking at? I click on the datalogging tab and I assume I should at least monitor the RPM & O2 sensors. I flip over to the graphs tab and I have little line going across the screen...? I guess I just don't know how to interpret or "capture" the datalogging data and apply that to my tables? I looked at the csv file and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense... ???

----. Maybe I need to drive around the block a few times? ;D

Any suggestions appreciated... ;)

Ok, I must be retarded because I should probably just do a quick run/pull and then check my log.

Still curious about how I can view it to make more sense.

you have to check the boxes next to the sensors you want to log. once you've done that, are the lines on the graph reacting to you pushing on the throttle (are the rpm, map, tps lines moving up when you press the gas and going back down when you let off?). if so, then you have everything set up properly, so you're good there. the graph is cool to look at and all, but what you really want to be watching is the 'lambda log'. once you've verified on the graph that you're data is correct, then you want to click on 'fuel lo' tab up top, and then go to the bottom and click 'lambda'. then you will have a real time 'map trace' of what cells you are in at certain points and it will record your a/f ratio in each cell that you're in. so basically, you want to make a run and you're lamba log will fill in the cells and they will remain filled in so that you can analyze them and see which cells need more or less fuel. you can't save or export the actual lamba log, which kind of sucks, but you can study it for a minute and see where you need to richen or lean it up some. unless you're somewhat proficient with excel and can turn the .csv file in to an actual graph, it really doesn't help too much in my opinion. i don't have excel on my lap top, so i never even really use the .csv, i just use the lambda log. you can also save the graph if you want, just click 'save graph' on the data logging tab and it will allow you to save it as a .udg file, which can be opened in uber by going to 'load graph' on the data logging tab and it will then open the graph you saved to analyze it later.

I was idling in my garage at first, which really didn't do much for me... ;D Driving around at least made for some better looking lines and spikes, LOL...

Anyway, I didn't even think to look at the other tabs in Uberdata... ------- dammit. I'll give that a go this evening. So if I'm in the datalogging tab and have the O2 box checked, the number beside it should match what my WBO2 reads, right? It was kind of hard to tell if it was right or not. Seemed like it was off by about 0.5 or so. At a minimum, I at least need to have that box checked? All the other stuff seems like nice-to-haves, not need-to-haves. :-\

I'm going to look this up later today, but does anyone use the supplied capacitors from PLX? I ran all my wiring off the ECU wiring and I wonder if this is why it's off...

the o2 sensor has to warm up completely before it gives an accurate reading. my plx is dead on with uberdata's readings after it warms up for a few minutes. i usually log rpm, map, iat's, and o2.

So I drove around a bit last night... Make a whole lot more sense this time ;D

Too bad my laptop just up and shut off right before I got home, so I lost all my data.

It's weird though, the O2 ratio on the datalogging page still seems like it's off by .5 but when I look at the lo fuel side and the celss it's filling in, it looks closer to matching my WB...? Is that right or am I missing something? ???

I had to make a .3 afr adjustment in uberdata formula to match the wideband reading on my plx.

Do you match it to the lo fuel readings or the cell on the datalogging page?
