What does socket mean? Is a uberchip the same thing as a eeprom with uberdata burned on it? When people say a chipped ecu do they mean chip as in a eeprom that is burned or do you have to make modifications before you can put a chip in the ecu? Uberdata has datalogging, correct? Do you have to buy uberdata or do you just download it?

chipped ECU is when you have a socket(ZIF) and an eprom chip with a "program" on it.

Uberdata does NOT have datalogging.

Uberdata itself may not have datalogging, but if you're clueful you can insert datalogging code and use ECU Control or the like.

Also ZIF = Zero Inserstion Force socket. .. basically means you lay it on, close a lever and bam.. its in there. No pulling them in/out and hosing the pins.
