Uberdata question
OK, I'm totally clueless about uberdata but I'm very curious. I searched around, but I can't seem to catch on how this setup works. What exactly do you need to run this setup?

Re:Uberdata question
get your ecu chiped and you need some bigger injectors not sure if just any would work but im pretty sure the dsm 450's would work

Re:Uberdata question
All boost ready ECU programs (TurboEDIT, Uberdata) you need:
1) Properly chipped ECU 2) 440, 450cc injectors (or properly scale your fuel and ignition maps) |
Re:Uberdata question
Another stupid question....get my ECU chipped with what chip. Does it need to be a EEPROM or what? Told yo..I'm totally clueless.

Basically, you need a couple of capacitors, a resistor, a 74H373 IC, ZIF, and a jumper for OBD1.. Everything is silk screened on the PCB where you need to install it. Hold th ECU sockets on your left side, the place to isntall everything would be in the lower right quadrant. |
Re:Uberdata question
is there a site/page that outlines exactly how to modify a OBD1 ECU?

Re:Uberdata question
www.wiki.pgmfi.org :P
Things needed Chipped ECU Someone to burn you chips Bigger Injectors(i never heard you can only use 450's??) Wideband or some device to tune A Clue(something i lack...but i do have trailer park formulas) O, you also need a car. |
Re:Uberdata question
my ecu is already socketed for a chip, does all chips require the same socketing procedure? p28 obd1, what if I decided to use the uberchip, all I have to do is install it in the socket correct, do I have any other requirement, TUNING how do you tune the uber chip after installation? can it be ran with a vafc still installed? since I'm Germany I have no tuning capability, so do I need a lap top and special equipment to program it or does the chip comes fully programmed? please give me your best answers.

Re:Uberdata question
Okay, basically with uberdata you burn the bin on a eprom and the data is held on there. Then you place the chip in the ZIF and the ECU will read it.
You can burn a basemap with Uberdata that will handle your timing and somewhat handle your fuel and fine tune with an AFC. I would still suggest somesort of wideband to tune, but you probably could get away with just using the AFC. I personally think regardless when setting up your fuel management you should use a Wideband to tune. If you decide not to use the AFC with uberdata the way to tune is basically, you burn a chip, datalog the session. Find places of error and go back to uberdata. fix the map to correct the error. test again. do this until you get your a/f about 12:1-12:5 |
Re:Uberdata question
whats a ZIF? and I can basically get a normal uberchip program with my choice of timing and rev limit, and fine tune the fuel part of it with my vafc on a wideband?
