TurboEdit VS Uberdata (Total Cost, Ease Of Use, Function)
 

For the short time Ive been here Ive learned quite a lot about engine building and boost and have since put together a completely build top to bottom motor and am just awaiting parts for the boost part.

One part I have left undone is Engine Management

By no means do I wish to make either system seem lesser than it really is because I know each will probably have its advantages, but I want some help figuring out what is best for MY SETUP.

So what are the differences? I havent even tried to start playing with either because I havent had time.

Uberdata-
-runs off OBD1 systems right? To convert to OBD1, can you just buy a conversion harness, plug it in, p28 ecu and youre done?

-also seems to have a lot more users because of the OBD1 so help with tuning and such may be easier to get

-I think with cost of ecu, burning components, harness that it would be upwards of 600+

TurboEdit
-OBD0, wouldnt have to change anything, very big PLUS in my book

-not as many users but the ones I have seen on here are fairly willing to help and hold tuning sessions for people with basemaps and such already set up, I was unable to understand it from basic first readings so getting started may be a hassle for me with my work/school schedule

-seems cheap

Please jump in with any facts about ease of use of both system for a relatively low knowledge person on advancing timing and fuel maps and such.

Any other facts/opinions welcome

3" downpipe and 3" exhaust
12 X 24 X 3 intercooler
Will have upgraded clutch and light flywheel
DSM 440cc injectors
skunk2 i/m
66mm t/b
gm 3 bar map sensor

I'm running Turboedit with the new code right now...runs flawless for me....
Turboedit it's 3bar support isn't completely up and running...some people are still testing for blundar as we speak.
You can go with turboedit..as you don't have a vtec head...depends on what you want to do next and if you are willing to wait out on the development.
For further goals like vtec head or going B-series...I would choose Uberdata and do the conversion.

Yeah I don't really think one is "better" than the other, it's more a matter of what OBD your going to stick with. Both are great programs.

Geez, I don't know how many times I've answered this, but 3bar code has been ready for about 6 months now.

Dave has yet to find anyone serious enough to use it.

Get ahold of of Dave (blundar) if you're ready. As a matter of fact, I think he got so fed up with people half ass asking for 3bar, that he just posted the bin and said use at your own risk.

Yeah I saw the post...I need a 2bar bin actually...cause I don't have a 3 bar map yet.
