TurboEDIT ..PM6 ROM Editor..

OK, here is the deal. I'm writing a web based PM6 ROM editor. Everything is great. There is a working version (haven't written a save routine yet but it'll be there in the next few days) at http://www.driftkids.com/index.php?page=turboedit so you can see what I'm talking about.

Anyway, my fuel calculations for higher pressure cells are coming out a few tenths lower than other editors. Basically, what I'm wondering is if there is a correction curve that I don't know about, or something I'm forgetting. The lower pressure cells are accurate, the higher pressure cells seem to start getting incrementally lower.

Sorry to cross post this with PGMFI, but, I'm not getting any responses there. Maybe someone here might have an idea.

What are you dividing the hex value by for your fuel? A couple digits off at high rpm values would show as a few tenths.

How about I ask you to just shelve the current OBD0 pulsewidth convention? As others have pointed out before, fuel in millisecond pulsewidth is not linear and can be a little wierd to deal with. If you went with a "junk" number convention, like Hondata, ERM, HRED, and a bunch of other editors I fiddled with then the fuel is linear and much easier to deal with. Better yet, you could support both o_O.

Well, I guess I could make it anything I want.

I was just worried about why my calculations were coming up short.

Any scale you particularly care to see?

I have no preferrence... I think the Hyundaidata convention (no offense... good product, talked to Doug once on the phone and he's a sweetie... just cute play on words) is something like (convert hex to dec)*multiplier*4 or some such. A search of PGMFI should turn it up; I'll ask Blundy or Evan next time I talk to them, too.

Emailing xtensive or what's his face with OBD0Edit (groovy piece, btw) should clarify the pulsewidth calc. They'd know.

HRED, for those who don't know, is an OBD0 PR3/PW0 editor... it was freeware, but it's author Nico got sick of people selling it on eBay and has taken it off his site. Some people have found it as "Thunderrev.exe" or some such, but it still says HRED when you open it.
