Default Turbo VAFC ?

I have been reading about the purpose of a vafc and then also heard that it sucks when being turboed......I was wondering if when running very low boost maybe 6-8psi how shitty does it drive and is it just extremly uncomparable to socketing my Ecu..the set up would be a small 14b turbo, 450cc DSM's on a SOHC Vtec.. and im a lowballer ! what suggestions are there .. any help would be extremly appriciated!!!

yeah it is still a good form of fuel managment just not as good as chipping. i never had a problem with mine when runnign lower boost. and it doesn't drive shitty unless you don't make any adjustments. you usually have to drive it then change some settings then do it again and it will eventually end up pretty good. or you can always have somebody use a WBO2 sensor to street tune it.

it's not hard at all once you know what the numbers mean, and actually the chipped ecu is harder for me to change settings for me because i don't have a chip burner or wideband O2 so if i need it changed i have to pay a tuner to come change it for me or email the .bin i want to somebody and have them burn it and mail it to me.

yeah i have a tranny that i need to swap into mine too but i have been kinda lazy . i have seen people use a vafc on gsr's but really don't think it would make that big of a differance on a stock d series unless you had it tuned with a wideband or on a dyno. you could always just use it to change vtec crossover until you put the turbo on.

sweet so by changing crossover i could start vtec at any rpm desired not that the S. cam vtech has much power during vtec anyways but i need any power i can get!

I really wouldn't advise changing your v-tec crossover from stock, you could end up losing power instead of gaining.

I did notice a difference when I had my VAFC on a N/A setup. Seems like V-TEC had a little more "oompf" to it. Unless you're comfortable ------- around with the settings, I'd pay someone with a WBO2 to fine tune it for you if you're looking for more power.

I ran with the hack for a year. Seemed fine to me at 6.5 PSI. Some people really don't like the timing advance it creates, but it's not a bad self contained unit. I just sold mine and am upgrading to Uberdata if that says anything.

N/A - I just put it in, initialized it and left it alone. Now that I think about it, my track times didn't change, but it rode nice, smooth and felt a little more powerful.

Boosted - I did my whole setup and then had a tuner guy come over, program in a basemap and then he took off with it for a couple of hours with a wide band for street tuning. It was sick when I got it back.

But I really didn't mess with it much N/A... The whole reason I got it in the first place was for fuel management when I went to boost.
