i am getting a pm6 chipped with datalogger soon and i was wondering how easy turbo edit is to use? could i tune my car safely without ever tuning a car? would a basemap be sufficent

Re: turbo edit
I found with zero prior experience that Turbo Edit was relly easy to use.Get a wideband and a Moates Burn1 and you can do a decent tune yourself.

Re: turbo edit
The Moates Burn 1 is a chip burner as you need one to burn the bin file to a chip that goes into the ecu.The datalogging is used in conjuction with a wideband to see where your air/fuel is at after a run, you can look at the map and see lean spots, rich etc.The other common burner for chips is the Willems which i use and it can be a pain in the ass till you get used to it.The Moates is a much better unit and much easier to use.I would recommend spending at least a hour or two a night reading on pgmfi.org and play around with the software to get a feel for it.I have found the hardest part of the tuning etc is getting all the software working as Im kinda computer illiterate.Xenecron can hook you up with everything you need to get rolling including a basemap to start you off.Good luck and dont get too frustrated you will get it all figured out in time.

Re: turbo edit
Unless he is including a Emulator like the Moates Ostrich then yes you will need something to burn the map with. Here are some sites to do some reading on.
