Tuning Vids?

I've been reading into tuning a lot and I'm retaining a lot info but there is a lot of stuff that I would better understand if I could actually watch someone else do. Does anyone know of a video I could download of someone tuning on crome (a detailed video, a "documentary" if you will). I'm going to tune my own setup but just need to watch someone else do it first. Help a fellow nog out.

BTW I did do some searching but I only found two vids on youtube, but the audio quality was so poor that even when my volume was maxed out I still could barely hear the person talking.

Re: Tuning Vids?

somebody should do a video, of a step buy step of how to tune a car from start to finish. How to set up all the options and everything. Im sure it would be a boring, but very informative vid. O and it has to be a boosted motor. Because tuning a non boosted motor is like having sex without a dick. It just would suck!!!!!!

Something that extensive would def not be free. Nevertheless I would pay for this.

I would pay for it. Too bad it will never hapen. No great tuner is going to sell all there tips and tricks to every ---- bag, because it would be a mater of houres before someone would post it up on youtube.

This is true. That's why it hasn't happened yet. :-\

Maybe if Chris or someone could make a vid that touched base on all of the important parts of tuning rather than revealing every detail/secret they have. I would still pay for that, even though it would be just a basic how to.

Re: Tuning Vids?

i think chris(xenocron) would be the best person for this job considering he is A GOOD TUNER.fyi u should do two one for turboedit and one for crome.

food for thought!

if u sat down and did like a 2 hour totuarl and made it into a dvd on tuning with crome t/e and did a little thing on rtp and datalogging and maybe a qucik rundown on ecu chipping i would pay good money for it. ;D

Re: Tuning Vids?

Same here, I wouldnt expect a video to be made to teach All about tuning. I would expect it to be an entry level tuning video to help you get your car started and tuned at lower boost levels until you can get to a tuner.
The nearest tuners near me are like 2 hrs away i believe, If i could tune my car at low boost to make it to the tuner it would be worth paying for..

If you have all of the equipment and know-how to tune the "lower boost levels" why couldn't you just do the rest yourself?

Thats it, I need to quit being lazy. As soon as I get my computer back from HP I will get my computer registered with ectune again and I WILL make a video. If I have not reported back to this thread in 1 month with a video please pm me and tell me what a worthless tool I am. Thanks

PS. I have now been with out my money making tool (computer) for almost 2 and 1/2 months due to shitty HP service. This makes me angry.

Re: Tuning Vids?

Damn, I learned a lot about tuning from my tuner street tuning my car a couple of times, also seen hiim tune a couple of cars down at his shop. Best time I have ever spent. I can pretty much tune my own cars now with no problem.
Step 1.
Buy a wideband
Step 2.
Ostrich/Chip Burner
Step 3.
Datalog Cable
Step 4.
Download Crome and Freelog
Step 5
Read xenocrons guide.
Step 6,
Tune your ---- and rip up the streets.

I used to want one of these "tuning video's" but really if you need it you may not be the right type of guy for tuning.
