Tuning timing
i have a Q i am going to be tunning with TE and i was looking at Xenos write up where he tells that -.60 per pound of boost is a good start my Q is all i have heard is that the rule of thumb is 1 degree per pound of boost.
is the -.60 good because u are already pulling timing at low psi where its not really needed. but once you are at say 15psi u actually less than a 1:1 you have only pulled 9 degrees total so im just wondering what tips can i use with the ignition tunning besides get a stethoscope which i plan on doing,, |
Timing really shouldn't be tuned on the street. You can use det-cans and do ok, but it won't be optimal or even be all that close. Just start around -.75 per psi and then listen with the det-cans to make adjustments after that.
