I have a 16G on my d16z6. My bin is good for around 10lbs. It is in the bin depository. It is nice and rich in boost, for me atleast. There hasn't been any part throttle tuning though, just WOT running a stock O2 sensor.

Oh, the waste gate you will want will be off a 14b, it will get you to 9lbs. And then you can play with it from there, stock 16g wastegates are like 13 or so.

Doesnt the EVO8 run like 20-22 psi of boost stock?

They use a boost solenoid to turn the boost up. That is how all the eclipses are. And I think it is up there 18-20. Which is pretty nice for a stock car. The only gay thing is the exhaust flange on the evo 8, it is unlike all of the other 16g. >:(

I have an Evo III big 16g on d15b2 with mpfi. I have a very similar set up. I'm running a pm6 map recurved for 450's. My management is zdyne. I'm very happy with the turbo. I've also used it on a built d16a6. You can pm me if you got any questions.

My stock big 16g wastegate is 8 or 9 psi.

well what i was wondering is do i need to have 2 seperate bins on seperate chips to boost 8-9 psi and then another to go to 15-20 psi? or do i have one bin and have it be rich to compensate. also is it better to create the map in linear mode or in steps i want to start out with a bin. that i can drive on daily with out worry until i get to the dyno. and last question is....should i hold off on installing the turbo until i break my motor in or just do everything at once. will boost effect the break in? not to say im going to be flooring it day one but i mean for everyday driving

Just tune it for 15-20 and you should be fine for anything lower.

Oh the 14Bs have 8-10 PSI wastegates, and the 16Gs are higher. I a 14b gate off my dad's stock turbo and put it on my 16G. I know the 16G is atleast 13 because that is where it was going to and I asked around, and came up with somewhere between 11-13 for the 16g and like 8-10 on the 14b.

Maybe you have a 14B gate on it, or the older 16Gs just have smaller gates. But mine wasn't a stock turbo either.

i would say either break it in on the dyno and get a wideband on it ASAP or break it in unboosted on the stock ECU for a few hundred miles
