Tuning an NA ITR, timing suggestions.

I figure what I will do with this car is just start with a GS-R base in Crome. This is a stock ITR swap in a CRX.

As far as timing goes, I am just wondering what others would do with the timing to base it out. Maybe just pull an extra couple degrees to compensate for the compression?

basically the gsr map is pretty simple, runs like 28* from 6500 on up, climbs from 21* on up before that.

thoughts? suggestions?

depending on what your a/f is, you could increase your ignition timing. But the only way to know if it helps, is to do it on a dyno. I squized out 183 whp on my gf's gsr with just a few mods and ctr cams.

Rob Deal aka GSRswapandslow's stock JDM ITR with pimp bolt ons (AN-R header, Comptech whale dick intake) made 191 whp off of a modified GSR .bin. I added something like 3-5% to the ignition. Fuel I added 5% to in the high load to WOT range. AFRs were a little unsteady up top as it was a blind chip job, not properly tuned.

ITR is just an overpriced GSR that trades midrange for a little up top. Nothing to be impressed by.

i remember someone telling me that the stock p30 ign map is pretty good for NA. and a bit more aggressive then the gsr ign map. i wanna say it was xenocron that told me this but im not sure...

xenocron is a stinky liar. Nothing is more potent than P05 maps!

Does anyone know what the deal is with the stock itr maps that you can use in uberdata and crome? The ignition timing is way screwey and has huge dips in the timing curve. Hondata's basemap has a fairly flat ignition curve...i know their basemaps are supposedely somewhat tuned from a stock map, but I still don't see why the stock maps are like they are.

LOL, what? Hyundaidata's basemaps have a ---- ton of ignition yanked out of them, compared to OEM.

so are you guys serious? or joking about the p05 maps? are they better to use then the p30?

JD, look at the 'base' maps that come w/ the s300. Deff advanced over stock.

I'm dead serious, stunna. D15B8 have the pinnacle of factory Honduh tuning.

Haven't touched anything Hyundaidata since the 4B era. Romeditor 2.5 or so.
