Default TROUBLE ON DYNO suggestions ?

i finally made it down to the dyno in minneapolis and was going to do a tune on e85 on my built z6. But i ran into all kinds of ------ problems after i filled the tank and wheeled it on the dyno. injector was stuck closed, coil went out on distributor, problems with ecu and FPR. all in all the biggest ------ headache ive had in a long time.

the problem is once everything was supposedly "fixed" the car still broke up in boost on the E85. it woudl not run for ---- in boost and when it came back down it wouldnt idle and itd just die. have any of you tuning gurus had any experience with bad E85? what did it act like? all i can think of was that it was bad gas. we finally gave up on the tune, put my base map back in and drained the tank and put in 92 octane.

runs PERFECT on my base map and regular gas. in and out of boost is smooth. no misfire or break ups at any point. so do you think that it was bad gas? it was just a random 5 gallon jug of "E85" they had in the corner of the shop, so im iffy about how good it was.

so for this summer i just decided to go with regular gas and just do a simple tune till i put it in storage. but the problem is all i have are these shitty dsm 450s and im not gonna buy bigger injectors to buy even bigger ones next year. so my last question is how much fuel pressure can i run on a walboro without damaging it? i was thinking of upping my fuel pressure to like 55psi so i can get a little more oomph from these 450s. i would really like to make 300 on a mustang dyno for this summer.

sorry for all these stupid *** questions and all this reading but i really wanna get this done before it starts getting cold agian and enjoy the car a little bit

3 of my buddies have tuned on it now WITH me the same day and they didnt have problems , they got their gas somewhere else tho. one guy made 320 on a built z6, the other 445 on a built gsr, and the last guy made 430 on a built gsr. all on E85 and DD's. to me E85 is the ---- but im giving up on it this year.

there is no savings in e-85, burn more fuel, go to the gas station more. More hp=bigger injectors, Walbros are good to 600.

I would rather give the money to the farmers then some piece of crap that hates the US. I am planning on going with e85 too. Octane level is better even though it takes more. You sound like you got a bad batch. What did it smell like?? Smell like tequilla ?? Sell it to one of your buddies you don't like with a turboed civic and see if they have any driving issues or save it to clean parts.

i just know how much people hate reading something that long so i figured id break it up. im bascially just asking two questions, could my problem have been bad gas? and how much fuel pressure is is safe to run on a DD with out burning up a walboro

It could be bad gas, or a dozen other things.

Upping your fuel pressure isn't going to net you as much as you think it is, see the injector worksheet at rceng.com. Especially E85 across some dinky 450cc since you need 75% more fuel at WOT.

well for this year i was just going to use the 450s with regular gas cuase i just dont wanna mess with converting it right now. it runs fine on gas in and out of boost. i made 245 last year with the stock fuel pressure on the 450s just wondering if 300 is possible with higher pressure?
