Yeah, I guess...but why wouldnt you just get your ECU chipped?

How hard is it to chip an ecu? What exactly is needed?

It's ok for temporary fuel management...until you get your stuff to chip the ecu.

It's not hard really...desolder the stock chip, solder in a socket, burn some chips and off you go. Chipping your ECU the first time is a daunting task though for some.

For not too much $$$ I chip ECUs and get you set up. Keep in mind this is not plug n play. You have shown some interest in soldering together your own PCB so you have some promise ;)

man, for some ------ reason, i could not get that damn thing fingered out. i tried to make one while i was waiting to get my ecu back and just couldn't figure the diagram out. the three legs on the voltage regulator you have to use aren't numbered the way they should be according to the actual diagram. it was a pain in my ass, and i ended up spending like 20 bucks cause i kept going back to radio shack and getting different boards, boxes, etc. not my proudest moment in fi tuning :P

I ran the Trailor Park hack at 5lbs. It ran ok for low boost with 450's. Kinda dangerous though.

Re:Trailoerpark hack

I ran that hack @ 1 bar..= 14.5 psi boost
Raped the engine everyday for 2 month's and it's still running today...it was a D15B2 with MPFI

Re:Trailoerpark hack

Why is it kinda dangerouds, couldnt u tune to the rich side?
And what do I do about advanced timing?

Semnos 09-26-2004 08:41 AM

Re:Trailoerpark hack

It's dangerous cause at low boost in the range up to 4-5 psi your timing is way advanced to like 40 degrees and is actually has to be around 20....after that it goes back down to in the range of the 20's .
Not even a BTM can help the ignition spike in the beginning of boost. So if you use bad gas you have a lot of chance in detonating. you can put it on the rich side thoug and run good gas. at least 91 octane.
