TPS voltage.......

per the Helms, should be .45v closed then 4.5v WOT, mine was ,18v closed and 3.96v WOT. So I adjust the TPS, easy enough since Gude had already slotted the screws.

Now the injectors rarely shut off when throttle closed (as read by the Autometer AF gauge, good for some things!) but If yet to check the throttle cable tension......

The big issue though, clutch in coming up to a stop, engine just dies.....doesn't even try to catch idle. Mind you I'm running a HUGE nonVTEC cam in a D15 also.

Re: TPS voltage.......

So you adjusted your TPS and it reads the correct voltage now? Or does it still work backwards, showing less voltage when the throttle is open? (Or was that supposed to be a .18V?)

Re: TPS voltage.......

are you using an autorange multimeter. they absolutely suck for adjusting the TPS voltage, usually dont react quick enough to show the true reading. i have a $250 meter that wont work for this, and a $20 wal mart manual range meter that does. any CEL, i doubt it or you would have said so. im just stumped by how the TPS at WOT is so low, definately check the cable tension.

Re: TPS voltage.......

voltage is now correct at .45V and 4.5V

Gotta figure I'd adjusted everything else (even the little set screw!) in attempt to get this cam to idle. Come to find out it was the TPS (------- GUDE!).......

One good thing I did notice, getting into the gas to pull away is now smooth becuase of now dead spot due to low TPS.

No CEL's either.......

I might try .38-.40 at closed throttle and see what happens.......

Also using a $9.99 Ratshack DVOM autoranging, which isn't a problem once you goto 1.0+v to get out of the millivolt range.

Re: TPS voltage.......

good deal, my autorange meter just doesnt stay steady long enough to get a descent reading. you are just leaning out more at WOT the more you drop the TPS voltage, dont forget to take that into account. also, if you are using bigger than stock injectors compesate for the slower pulse at low speed/loads. i have found that is a huge problem w/ cams and bigger injectors people dont compensate and lean at tip in which gives a stumble off idle, and sometimes stalling when snapping the throttle closed.

Re: TPS voltage.......

stock injectors, Blundar/crome chip, yet to be wideband tuned........

Re: TPS voltage.......

cool, probably just the cam then. blundar basemap should have plenty of room to play w/ TPS (a/f wise). i would think raising the voltage would help the stalling though, not dropping it.

Re: TPS voltage.......

well, in my ------- with everything, I had the idle screw TOTALLY closed.......it's back to idling somewhat fucked up, but doesn't stall now.

Throttle tip-in is alot better now!
