TE Wideband Recomendations

Im recomending a wideband to two of my friends running TE. One is probably going to get a rommulator also. I was wondering if the makers recommend any brand or type that might campatible in any future self tuning feature or intergration into the datalogging release of TE.

Another question, Jason, have you thought about the option of displaying map sensor voltage on the tables since if your datalogging using the wideband setup you log the map voltage and then have to go through a conversion that is time consuming and that be problematic.

Thanks

Re:TE Wideband Recomendations

You won't need to log MAP sensor voltage, as with ECU datalogging, the ECU spits out all of the values that you need as _it_ sees them. Which may not be as accurate, in the end, will be more accurate when you adjust based on what the ECU sees, rather than what the external logging devices see.

The TE datalogger converts MAP voltages (along with RPM) into cell position on a grid, showing you exactly which cells, and logging user-defined criteria in those cells. This cell placement will be matched with the corrosponding Fuel and Ignition table cells, and accurate tuning can be accomplished.

Thanks, i was planning to recommend to them to use the internal TE datalog but didnt know it logged wideband yet. I thought you had to correlate the external wideband with the internal TE datalogging or just use all external and then look up the columns and change the correlating values

Well, the backend was done. I'm not sure what Nick is waiting on anymore. He said that Daniel was thinking of changing the code? I don't know...

If I can find the time, I'll finish it myself. I think he's been busy or soemthing.. I don't know.

Re:TE Wideband Recomendations

is there any answers to my initial questions
1) what wideband brans will be suppoorted/recomended internally in TE in the future.
2) is there anyway in the meantime to get around trouble correlating the internal MAP and RPM within the TE datalog rutine and the external Wideband datalog.

Thanks again

Re:TE Wideband Recomendations

1) Anything with a linear 0-5v output wire that can be connected to the ECU will be supported.

2) Not that I know of.
