TE Question....what could cause TPS code?

I chipped an ecu and burned a rom from TE for a friends DX hatch with MPFI conversion. He still has some issue with the MPFI and gets a code 4 for that. Regardless of that the PR4 that I chipped for him throws code 4 and code 7. Code 7 being TPS makes no sense to me since it isn't there with the stock ecu (not dx, si ecu he got with the mpfi stuff). So, does anybody have any idea what could cause this. I don't think I did anything wrong with the chipping, but with turbo edit all I did was ad 15% more fuel since he is running 390's to the pgmfi stable bin. I also tried the pgmfi stable been unmodified.

Any ideas?

TurboEDIT would not be the cause of this error.

Check your wiring. Check your solder-points on the ECU.

I wasn't blaming Turbo Edit. I just thought maybe there was a user error that could cause that problem. I'll go back and check the solder connections all again, but I was under the impression if a solder joint was messed up then the ecu would have a solid red light.

I would try to fix the original problem before adding new ones. :-\

Sometimes it will solild CEL.

..I have put a chip in with two pins hanging out before, and it didn't CEL at all. ...didn't run right, but also didn't CEL.

Weird things can happen with external EEPROM. ;D

Thats what I told him to worry about first. I was just trying to get some insight on the TPS thing. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

throw a stock ECU in there...if you get the same code..its not necessarily the ECU...if no codes, its your wiring/solder job...simple enough ;)

I did the ecu but I didn't do any wiring in the car so I'm not too certain about that. I was just wanting to know if a bad solder joint could cause a TPS code.

He was able to figure out the TPS code. From what he told me the TPS was on upside down. Still not sure why the TPS code wasn't being thrown on the stock ecu. Any ideas about the other code? Suggestions?

Hrm, I've never thrown a CEL(4), only CEL(9).. check your distributor wiring.
