Re:TE Base Map for Turbo ZC

use the one off of the turboedit website and tell him not to boost until you get to the dyno and have it tuned...

Thats what I was thinking but I was just seeing if there is a closer map that'll save on dyno time also

Use surfer's maps. That what I have, just changed them to suit my driving habits. There on the TE site

Re:TE Base Map for Turbo ZC

surfer's maps were unfortunately made on a FUCKED version of the ROM. If you try to use them with the current (NG5.5) fixed version, things will not work well.

Re:TE Base Map for Turbo ZC

yeah i think that ---- is old now, go to PGMFI and in the turboedit section under boost maps with te2 thread there are some zydne converted files import them in to NG5.5 with my ignition tables although the last 6 columns may way retarding a little

What about ng5? will they work right on this one? And what do you mean they will not work well? I just sent the ng5.bin with surfer maps imported, to someone to have them burn it for me, will this suck?

Re:TE Base Map for Turbo ZC

DO NOT USE IT

it will almost definately cause your ---- to die, do like i said ^^^^

Ok i just sent dude a new .bin file, it's the ng5 with imported .exp file from the zc z**** file. You said this worked pretty good on your car correct?

Re:TE Base Map for Turbo ZC

if you did this it will run quite well but obviously will require a little tuning to get it spot on:

open 'surfers' maps and choose to export ignition files give it an appropriate name and a little description

open NG5 or 5.5 if you gonna datalog, import $dyne file then import 'surfers' ignition tables

once done retard the last 6 columns of boost by 0.25 degrees and then the last 3 again by 0.25 this should keep it safe until you get tuning them

enjoy ;)

Is anyone running the TE pm7_NG26 ROM. How does it run. I fund it posted at PGMFI and just want to make sure it's safe. I haven't switch to the new versions so I'm still on the old stable1.0 rom

The new ROMs are fine... Boost transistion is perfect. (Thanks Dave Lee for being the bleeding edge beta tester!!)

..but ya, they have been runnig fine for a month and a half or so. YOu need to ditch that old code. It's horribly flawed.

Ya have had every intention to but lost the use of internet on my tuning laptop so had to what to get access back at my parents house. will be up this week. It ran fine. just a few blips here and there.

I ran the PM7 code in my car today in my PM6 today. I used the same exact maps that are pretty tuned in on PM6-NG25 code and weird ---- started happening.

I need to talk to Dave before I start suggesting anyone try the new PM7 code without a Wideband.

Re:TE NG25 Base Map for Turbo ZC

I was under the assumption that PM7 doesn't work in PM6 due to sensor conflicts... hence the reason _for_ a PM7 version.

..why wouldn't you use the PM6 version in your PM6?

Chris Harris 05-25-2004 07:13 AM

Re:TE NG25 Base Map for Turbo ZC

The older versions of the PM& worked in my PM6 just fine...the only reason I would use it personally is because i get no CEL lights with the PM7 code where I do the Yellow CEL on the dash with the PM6 code.

I do have to try it in my PR4 however...

It did work fine...my car just didnt run fine. The only differences I know between PM6/Pm7 code is that one looks for Baro Sensor and one doesnt.

Re:TE NG25 Base Map for Turbo ZC

Could I just import the PM7 maps into my PM6 code? I'm running my zc with a PM6

Yep.

Re:TE NG25 Base Map for Turbo ZC

Just to clear things up. I have a friend arguing about timing and ECU mods. Do I or don't I do any adjustments at the Dizzy itself? or leave it one base timing. (16deg @ 800rpm)

blundar 05-25-2004 12:26 PM

Re:TE NG25 Base Map for Turbo ZC

Do you want to play dirty or not?

If you want to play clean, set the distributor to stock per spec.

If you want to play dirty, retard the distributor as far as it will go. Make a note of how many degrees retarded from 16 degrees timing is.

Advance your ENTIRE PROGRAM by the amount that the dizzy is retarded, so that it is still reading 16 deg @ idle.

Now retard the piss out of the WOT area around where you set your launch control... can you say 1-2psi of boost off the line?

bumblezc 05-26-2004 09:29 AM

Re:TE NG25 Base Map for Turbo ZC

I think [playing it clean sounds it good!
