i think what i have had to say is pretty ------- helpful and if you dont like the way people are you can quite happily ---- off elsewhere, i have neither been rude or unhelpful, if you are able to read then look at what i said and take note, bulldog hit the nail on the head, by getting someone else to make you a chip you are more than likely going to blow yer motor as everybody needs there chip tuned for there motor/atmospheric pressure/weather etc. There is a lot more to it than you appear to realise which is the reason i am pushing for you to get a chip burner, it is far cheaper than a new motor, then, if you want you can chip ya mates cars to recover some of the extra costs you outlayed on buying the burner in the first place

all i wanted was something cheaper then 70 bucks for about 20 bucks in parts and 30 minutes of labor (i dont know anybody that makes 100 bucks and hour) but since there is such a large amount of negative attitude coming from my thread of just asking an easy and cheap way for my ecu to be chipped, i have decided to just wait until i see somebody who is a little less negative. for those who are able to still do me the favor just PM me. sorry to those whom i may have pissed off

Im sort of in the same situation as you and I have a few related questions. If I have someone make a basic tune for my car knowing exactaly what set up I have:

1: Will it be reliable enough to use a daily driver for a little bit until I can get it tuned properly?

2: If someone has burned the tune and chipped my ECU, how is the tune edited from there? People always talk about going out and street tuning but that dosnt mean going out and buring 5 or 6 chips until they get a tune they like does it?

Sorry if these questions are a little ignorant and yes I did search, this was the most related post I could find in the first little bit.

yes, retuning is generally reburning chips, which is why eeproms are handy, and so are emulators and rtp boards.
street tuning with a wideband and datalogging can help cut down time spent.

Thats what I plan on doing. It seems like a hell of a deal to get at least something that will work temporarily. What I was sort of curious about though is how reliable a basic tune like that would be? As long as its safly driveable as long as I don't rape on it too much that Ill be doing that as soon as I can scrounge up a backup ECU.
