TE 2.5.5 + Ostrich Problem HELP...
 

I have just updated the TE from 2.5.2 to 2.5.5 by downloading the .exe file from pgmfi and replace the exe of the ver 2.5.2. I have checked the com no. they are correct set as com 4. I have also done the setting as said on moates.net where setting the the bit/sec to 115200 and latency to 1. (I am trying to link it up with the ECU out of the car via my laptop). However this is what I am getting when I try the real time programming: -

*** Programmer: 2 COM: 4 Settings: 115200,n,8,1
*** --> Setting Baud Rate
*** --> Setting Read/Write Bank
*** --> Setting Emulation Bank
*** Looking for Ostrich..
*** Ostrich v10.10. Found!
*** Synronizing ROM to Ostrich..

Then since nothing happening I close the RTP window that poped up and try again... this appears: -

*** Version Request Error?! (0x3F)

Notice the verseion request error.. Any one got any ideas I can try???

Not sure about the version error, but when you launch the rtp it will first synchronize the map that you have open with TE on the ostrich and then wait for you to do changes. That's why you saw nothing happening, try doing some changes to your map or changing the rom property, the rtp monitor will give you feed back about TE writing on ostrich. This is as long as TE found ostrish.

EDIT: Check the TE sticky at top, there is an updated version on TurboEdit.

I see... :) Just tried that there at least something is happening although got a error message : -

Also updated to V2.6.1 as well

Not sure about that error, try to restart your laptop, corrupted driver maybe :-\.

I haven't seen your specific issue... but how hold is your Ostrich? Could be an improper firmware problem. Also confirm you are on the right com ports.

Also, go ahead and get ahold of 2.6.3 from the pgmfi.org thread... its got datalogging ;)

The ostrich, I just bought it brand new, open the casing it said V1.60. Firmware I checked it is 10.10.o also tried firmware 10.3.0 as well. I have the right port com as well as when I tried RTP, it can find the ostrich ok also checked on device manager to confirm.

Also i only seems to able to find 2.6.1 version of TE.... and I got that installed as well.

Use this software to confirm you can connect successfully with the Ostrich, it'll detect it on startup... if it doesnt... that rules out TE sorta.

Ok downloaded the Tunerpro RT, Opened a NG60_18 bin... although nothing displayed but I went on choose display 3D graph, then a graph came up so I assume it loaded ok.

The TunerPro RT also recognise the Ostrich, then I went to emulation, and upload the bin to ostrich. It uploaded ok, then I went to verify option it also verify ok using tunerpro RT. That i guess confirm that the ostrich is talking ok with Tunerpro.... however the problem is that the error message from TE V2.6.1. Anyone ?

Going on this, looks like it is working... so thats a good sign.

Check to confirm your port settings in TE options are correct.
