Take off the damn governor
I can't find it anywhere how to take off the governor. My 99 ex tops at 120 in 5th and still have plenty of rpm's to use up. I can go a little past 120 in 4th gear. My friend's 2003 civic tops at 135 and it's automatic. Is it even possible to take it off?

Yes you need to chip it. I dont think OBD2b has chips for speed limiter. You could always convert to OBD1.
P.S. slow down and don't kill innocent people. |
Re:Take off the damn governor
is the governor preprogrammed in the stock ecu or is it a wire that can be cut? that's what I want to know. Maybe a wire that's telling the computer that the car is going 120 mph.

can't cut ---- sorry.

programmed.

Re:Take off the damn governor
there is a speed signal wire but i believe the ecu is programmed for a certain rpm at or above x speed to cut fuel. However one way to pick up a few miles per hours is to get larger rims or taller tires. more rotational mass = tricks the computer
