Sweet Jesus it came!

Just got my new Zeitronix wideband. Smaller than I though. Also that is my new advance timing light my wife got me for my birthday. I can finally get to street tune my car and not have to go to the dyno. We can strap it on some of the North East cars if you guys need it. I should be tuned nicely for the install on the 10th. >:D

not to sound like a dick, but what good will the timing light do for tuning your car

are you gonna sit in the engine bay with the hood open and check your timing at WOT?

It helps to set your timning to stock before you tune, right? Kinda hard without a timing light. ;)

Re: Sweet Jesus it came!

well obviously, but the purpose of dyno tuning is so you can adjust your timing with the AFR to get the optimal amount of power. so having a timing light to set timing at idle has nothing to do with timing while doing a street tune

For base timing and base timing adjustment. I swapped heads so its needed. anytime I change things I like to check. I dont know how you can put together a turbo car and not use a timing light. Change timing belt or disto? Need light. Have fucked up 12btc but Uberdata says 16btc, you need a timing light. ;)

And Yes, I dont pay for dyno time so I can watch my WOT all I want! :-*

Nice Dave. I can't wait for the good weather to come around again so I can mess with Dataloging again. I still have to fix my IACV idle problem :P

SpankedYA! 03-23-2005 07:40 PM

Re: Sweet Jesus it came!

What problem Steve? High cold start idle? I have a fix for that already. ;)

Re: Sweet Jesus it came!

Hah, nah you remember my Integra has that fluctuating idle at times. I think you mentioned something about partially filling in one of the holes to limit the air entering? I'm not quite sure what you did, but I have a few spare IACV's laying around I can try it with.

Re: Sweet Jesus it came!

You make the first hole smaller like 1/16" and it lowers your cold idle.

awesome Dave! you try it out yet?

Re: Sweet Jesus it came!

I'll give it a try Dave. I take it JB weld works nice in this case? ;)

Re: Sweet Jesus it came!

I used a rubber plug and put a hole in it. I wouldn't use JB on this application. :P

Noel I was gonna throw it together and take the car out tomorrow but as you look out your window and see mass amounts of snow, thats no gonna happen. :-\

Maybe this weekend I can get to WB it a little.
