Still Code 4 - Crank Angle Sensor

D15b1 - recently did an MPFI swap. Running PM6 w/TurboEdit.

Magically, last Wednesday I started the car and it ran well, so I took it for a little ride and was making boost. Yay!. Thursday, I decide to take it for another short ride. Car wouldnt start and got Code 4. I ended up trying all 3 of my distributors but none of them made the code go away. Tried running all new wires from B10, B12 and C1, C2 to the distributor. That didnt help either. Once in a while, I could get the car to start and idle if I gave it full throttle, but it ran totally crappy and smoked a lot.

I'm out of ideas. I checked all of my grounds also and they are good. Unfortunatly I don't have a HELMS manual to help me though this. I guess I'm down to trying another ECU. Any ideas before I spend yet more money on this heap? Any help would be appreciated.

All 3 are the 7-wire and all wire colors are DEFINITLY matched up. Like I said, I was able to go for a test run and it ran great..once. :'(

I dunno what is what (sensor wise). I have 3 distros

1 - clean
2 - some red dust (failing bearing?)
3. funky yellow crap everywhere.

This can sometimes be attributed to the connections on the crank angle sensor wire. Some guys have even had to run a shielded wire back to the ECU to get rid fo the code...

I don't know exatly what happend (it's all a blur at this point) but I got rid of the code 4.

After turning the motor over and over and over, it still wouldnt fire. Took the spark plugs out and cleaned them, still nothing.

Bought new spark plugs, purrs like a kitten. WTF...anyways. The car is running well and I'm happy.

I noticed today, that some of the ECU connections could be better. jiggled some wires at the ECU today while the car was running and it stumbled. Gotta get that cleared up.

Thanks for the help guys!
