Step Retard Timing Values(Uberdata)

I understand that you guys can't tell me if these are the perfect timing values for my car/engine. I would like to know if these values are better than conservative and will not make it unsafe to drive my car daily. I understand too that timing must be done on the dyno, but I just want my timing to be a bit better than super conservative. I hope this makes some sense; on to the values:

1.13psi retard .17 degrees per psi
3.45psi retard .34 degrees per psi
5.78psi retard .51 degrees per psi
8.09psi retard .70 degrees per psi
10.41psi retard .85 degrees per psi
11.03psi retard .95 degrees per psi

Engine is a D16Y8

well, the more timing in the lower psi that you have set will allow for a smoother transition in to boost, but when you do pulls, you're usually at full boost, so that's where tuning the timing counts mostly, getting away with running as much as safely possible at or near full boost. however, your timing looks fine like that, still plenty conservative up top.

Re: Step Retard Timing Values(Uberdata)

I was comparing my timing map with the Z6 Berrbong map, and his timing is like: 10.41psi retard .7 degrees per psi.

So, would you think .7 in the 10.43 column is a bit much for not being on the dyno?

Just came up with these number:
1.13psi retard .17 degrees per psi
3.45psi retard .34 degrees per psi
5.78psi retard .51 degrees per psi
8.09psi retard .65 degrees per psi
10.41psi retard .80 degrees per psi
11.03psi retard .90 degrees per psi

his car is 'TUNED', not just a guess like you're trying to do ;) stick with a conservative timing map until you're more familiar with how to 'tune' timing. you're not going to be able to get the most power out of your set up by guessing, and that .10 difference isn't making enough difference to make it worth grenading a ring land or two. run conservative timing on a basemap, .80 up to 10 psi, .90 over 10 is what i do with basemaps.

Understood. I just went ahead and lowerd my timing in the 8, 10, and 11 PSI columns by .05(From my first set of values and I correct my second set of values)
