Yep ZIF sockets OWN you.

 

the 150+ ecu's i've chipped, never done one witout a zif, machine pin sockets suck if you plan to remove the chip again.

 

I couldnt imagine NOT having a ZIF socket. Anything else would be uncivilized. /old deodorant commercial

 

Upon closer inspection of the chip, the prong was just bent back. I couldn't tell when i first looked at it cuz it was dark and I didn't have light. I bent the prong straight and it works fine. I will probably just use that chip as a backup.

I do have a ZIF socket.

 

yeah, sometimes when i swap chips out it does that, solid cell, i just have to pull up the arm on the zif socket and wiggel teh chip, adn it ussually works fine.
