spark plugs all motor

i know this is homemadeTURBO but i wanted to know if you should stick with the stock plug rating when dealing with a higher than stock CR on an all motor build or if you should change the heat range like on a turbo setup. is there a general rule for choosing a plug for a motor application? and what is the resoning for changing the plug? school me...

compression/cams/static compression etc have all a role

Im assuming your talking what 99 percent people do slap oversized cams in a stock motor with a poor flowing head, manifold and undersized throttle body because you heard volume was a waste of time according to h-t but a hondata intake gasket will make you king of the streets

stock ngk range

Re: spark plugs all motor

lol no im not overcammed iam pretty aware of engine dynamics even though iam askin the newb question on plugs. the motor i have is nothing crazy just a b18c1 with usdm itr pistons valvetrain and buddyclub spec3+ cams. blox im and 4-1 2.5 collector header with full exhaust. i had a portmatched TB but have been playing with the size i want to stick with since i feel its losing velocity and thus power for the powerband that the car is in right now. i just wanted to now if there was power to be had chaging the plug range since the compression has been uped a little. i appreciate the comments so far....

Re: spark plugs all motor

that compression change is minimal stock range

Re: spark plugs all motor

when would you want to change then when your compression range is 12+ or when you need to change to run race gas or somthing? im just curious so ill know..

not sure when you should change plug rating but i am runing the rocket motorsports modified autolites and they are working just fine for me.

id def change your plug heat range if you have higher than stock compression and have larger injectors,, when i had a b16 with ctr pistons and xsi cams i always ran bkr7e11's 6e11 and 6es's burnt up to fast
