sorry i am dumb and i cant set my laptop up to be able to datalog turboedit or ecu control!!!! i am what you call illiterate(computer) and yes my laptop OWNES ME!!!!

 

I never got TE to work but I did get ECU control. Check the simple things first. Ping your cable to make sure it works, make sure yout port assignments are correct, use a version that is supported and burn that to your chip.

 

im not even sure im have the right drivers installed and i have tried with ecu control and the hulog and cable are from chris so they should be good. i just bought ***** willeim burner so i am waiting on that to get here. the laptop is a gateway solo with win.98 on it and im more experianced with xp so i am kind of lost.

 

98 sucks.

 

tell me about it so what should i do? i have the xp software left over from my desktop pc. should i wpe 98 and try to put xp on it? the guy i got it from on here had everything for uber and crome on it so i know its possible bt i have no clue where to start

thats what im thinking but i will have to get some more memory for it so i could do that but if at all possible i would like to try and set it up on 98 because that is all im using the laptop for is datalogging the car. by the way didnt you say a while back you had a card for it with the dongles so i could run my cable internet on it

if i remember correctly, 98 used to be real bad with the handling of com ports and resources, but i havent used it in a very long time, and its pretty much before my time, so i may be wrong
