Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
Ok, i'll break this down to every detail
Car is a 1991 Civic Si, with b18a, 450dsm injectors. I'm using a chipped 91 PM6 ecu . The problem i'm having is when i try any edited maps at all, it won't work. I've tried TE as well as the Pm6with450cc that comes with ghettodyne, they both do the same thing. The CEL stays on Solid and the fuel pump relay keeps clicking on and off very rapidly. Now it doesn't do this with either a stock PR4 map, or the stock PM6 Chip...I can't see it being an issue with the car or the ecu becuz it works with the stock maps.. Does anyone have any ideas? A friend of mine said it might be something to do with the fact that the car/ecu is canadian and is lacking ELD? HAs anyone heard of such a thing, or does anyone have a map they can send me at steventower@accesswave.ca btw, here is the latest bin file thta i tried..stable with PR4 imported, 114% correction, 450cc, and step retard. http://www.accesswave.ca/~slavoie/Basetuned.bin |
Re:Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
Hmmm, that is a little strange... I don't beleive the ELD will have that sort of effect on it though. You could try disabling it and see if it makes a difference, but I doubt it. What are you using for a burner?
|
Re:Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
Using a batronix eeprom programmer version 3.3.. The burner isn't an issue as we hvae just burned my friends obd1 ecu using uberdata with no issues..I'm completely stumped here. HOw do i disable ELD? I'm under the understanding that we don't have Eld in our canadain cars?
|
Re:Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
we don't, and an eld error will give you an eld code, and will not keep your car from starting
not to insult your intelligence, but are you putting the burned chip in the right way? checksum should be disabled... what version of TE are you using? what rom? |
Re:Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
How do i disable checksum, using te try 11, i've tried Ng28, and Stable..

Re:Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
Also, i've got another PR4 Ecu and an extra socket, should i try that? THe pr4 will work too right?
|
Re:Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
Does anyone have a schematic of what each PIN on the m38256ap does? I'm thinking maybe there is a pin that is not used by the regular chip, but is being used by the program once edited for boost.

Re:Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
Ok, after further investigation, the Relay isn't clicking when i try to start it.. It's only when the key is in the "on" position.. If i try to start it, it just whirls over..Also tried a new ZIF socket today in the ecu to no avail

Re: Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
I've been away for work for a while, going to be back home in a week with an opportunity to work on my car again, i was still having this problem when i left, anyone experianced this problem since then?
|
Re: Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
have you tried a known working turboedit bin file?
-------------/bins download one of those turboedit files and just burn it and see if the car runs it. process of elimination. if that works you know its a problem with the way you're making the maps. if it doesnt work, its probably an issue with the way you're burning the chip (if the stock chips are working) |
Re: Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
I've discovered that it's not an ECU issue, originally it was only doing it with the chipped ecu, but now it's doing it with a stock PM6 as well..

Re: Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
Home now, still stumped....ANYONE? Tested all the wires in the fuel pump relay harness, they are all grounded or getting their proper voltages, i'm losing my ------- mind here!
|
Re: Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
For fucks sakes i found it, there are 4 wires on the ground going to the t-stat housing, 2 into each connector, on of the wires was broken off the connector...

Re: Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
Holy crap dude you've been having this problem since June 2004? :o And it was all because of a bad ground?! Good job on finding it but dammit, couldn't it have been easier to track down? ;)

Re: Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
Damn this thread is ------- funny!

Re: Solid CEL Somebody help me!!!!
