So after reading around a little on this, I read in ONE place that Crome is no good for boosted applications and that I should use EcTune instead. What is up with that and do any of you foolios have a comment on that?

Soliciting opinions, ******** allowed to post!

Thanks

Jago can't help that you decided to ignore the obvious answer. It's like 'yes or no but dont say yes.'

If you get ---- so cheap then sell the hack and emanage and come out on top after the chipped ecu.

You have to pay someone to tune any of the above every time you change your setup, so it's a moot point that a basemap needs tuned

crome is a litte slower with development and updates, but without datalogging it is free. It works fine for me and many others, but I see alot of people bitching when they pay to upgrade to pro and have to wait on a reg string. I use crome free and datalog with freelog.

I never played with Ectune so I can't really comment, sounds like good ---- though

yeah, i have done alot more research since that part of the post and have since bought and sold the AFC, so im in it for a chipped ECU. Really at this point I just need to decide which one to get.

Im leaning toward Crome, but on John Vegas site it says that Crome is not recommended for boosted applications.

Anyway, alot of folks have said on H-T (eh...) that crome was fine too, thats probably the way I will go, but I wanted to solicit HMT's thoughts on that ---- too.

so, uh EcTune or Crome?

Thanks for your response brother.

You gotta ask who is going to tune it? Are you going to dive in and do it yourself or pay someone?

If you are going to pay someone then you have to find reputable people in your area and talk with them about what they use. Don't try to sell the software to the tuner, find a tuner that is experienced and confident in what they use. And remember alot of high dollar tooner shops are going to ---- on every low budget software especially crome for some reason. Its like if it didn't cost a G it's junk

If you are going to try it yourself start out with the free ---- like crome. If you don't like it you're not out the cost of a license, if you do and get good at it you may want to buy something in the future once you learn some ---- and know what you want.

ok, so I have NEVER tuned anything before. can you answer these ?'s I have honestly read a few things here of there on tuning, but have not found a how to so to speak (perhpas I am missing something?)

1. How hard is it to tune if you have a base map already?

2. Can I tune with just a laptop and the software?....

3. i guess my really stupid question is, do i need a cable of some sort?

4. I know I need a Wideband correct?

Hmmm, i have always wanted to tune my own ----, but i never really looked into it because I am deathly afraid of blowing my ---- up / ------- my ---- up lol....

If there is an easier method to tune myself, please let a nig nog know. Thanks inadvance you all!

im guessing you havent seen the 600+whp accord on here running with chrome

chrome is the best option and its what almost every boosted car on this site runs.

1. tuning is easy once you get to know the program

2. yes

3. yes

4. yes

see, its like getting answers from the government. you just have to ask the right questions and you get simple answers

keep the air/fuel under 12.5 and you wont blow ---- up. unless you run too much boost. and dont really mess with timing unless you are on a dyno and have some sort of knock detection
