so i run lean at cold start and idle, can i damage my motor this way????

as some other people have mentioned, i too run pretty lean at cold start and idle until i come off the cold maps. my a/f can go anywhere as lean as mid 30:1 range, but is in the 20:1 range most of the time. if im driving my vacuum settings are like 17-20:1. when my car warms up my idle is between 14 and 15:1 and the rest of my fuel maps are fine. most of the time i just start it, let it idle and walk away for a few minutes(most cause it pisses me off to see my car run llike this haha) and let it warm up before i drive it.

is my motor in danger of anything by running this lean at idle. it does not overheat and i dont put any decent load on the motor....

Are you running uberdata? Mines runs rich with my 450's and I can smell the gas. It sounds almost like my friends full-drag integra when I start it up. I gotta keep the revs up for a few seconds then I can drive it fine. I guess this is a common issue with uberdata?

Tune your idle.

When you start the car (unless cold start has been modified otherwise) you are running in open loop. Directly off of your maps, until your ECT reachs a certain temp. Enrich your idle area.

thanks guys.

yea im running uberdata.

turboEF9, im running closed loop and heater disabled, so im open loop all the time. i have tried many times to adjust the idle fuel cells. just off a basemap and other peoples tunes, it runs extremely lean at idle even when warm. i added back like around 40% fuel to the idle area, which gets me an almost perfect idle once warm. if i pull any more fuel out, ill be way to lean once warm, and if i add more fuel, ill be in the 10's once warm (which is when most of my driving happens)......

When cold...generally you idle at a higher rpm. Make sure you are enriching the 1100-1300 range when cold.

most peoples uber maps that i see never enable and use this section, and then they dont know why the ---- wont run very well cold.

Yeah, I have never known Cold Enrich to work properly in Uber at all...

I got the same problem on my uberdata setup.
I tried to enrich it as hell, it work and idle came back to ~15:1, but once warm it is like 9:1.
I'll give a try and play with cold enrich a bit.
