SMC???? (n00b here)

i was just reading up about the SMC on their website and it smc 500 and smc dual looks real nice... it says no need for a missing link nor a FMU. now if i were to run injectors such as 440cc or 390cc (or was it 380cc) (all dsm), wouldn't it save me a lot of money?

i'm thinking about the setup of 14b, some type of manifold, maybe equal lenght, fmic, and either 390 (or 380?) or 440cc injectors for my 99 gsr application.

esp. how this works well with obd2 platforms, why isn't this thing as popular as the safc's?

I think it is because a lot of people struggle to tune/set up the SMC, where as the AFC is easy to set up and get a good tune.

well doesn't a lot of tuners know how to use the SMC? when you say a lot of people struggle to tune/setup the SMC.. does "a lot of people" refer to the ghetto butt dyno method?

I have SMC500 and it works great. Very easy to tune, wiring took 15mins, tune up another 15. Since then i changed settings hunderd times and now it takes 7-8 mins to set % on each rpms.
