smc help
if i get a smc, do i have to run bigger injectors than stock civic ones? is there anything else i need to run a smc, like a fuel presser guage or bigger fulr pump?

Re:smc help
to be of any benefit you need bigger injectors
|
Re:smc help
i have one and they recommend using at least 450cc or larger injectors. so you'd need to get larger injectors. as for the fuel pump you can use the stock one, i got a fuel pump for extra insurance.

Re:smc help
i found some after market injectors, that sat they are the same as stock, but put out like 15% more, would those work? or do i have to go bigger?
|
Re:smc help
i don't know if they would be big enough. do you know exactly how many cc's the injectors put out. if stock are 240cc i'm guessing 15% more would be around 290-310cc i'm not very sure. but i got the instruction guide in front of me but here's the gerneral tuning guide from it
Boost : NA 1-4 5-8 9-14 injec. size: 240 370 400 450 base timing: 16 12-10 8-10 6-8 (boost) amount of boost running injecter sizes can be larger than shown timing is Before Top Dead Center Hope this helps out a bit |
Re:smc help
Well if i go with dsm injectors, do they just fit right in or do i have to customize them?
|
Re:smc help
for the dsm injectors to fit you would need to grind out the injector seal a bit with a dremel... go look in the "tech section" of HMT. it shows everything on how to install DSM injectors into our cars.

Re:smc help
oh ok, i remember readin thaty before ;D

Re:smc help
I'm not understanding the timing blurb for differently sized injectors. ??
|
Re:smc help
the injectors and timing part are different. they say that if you run 1-4 psi that you should run 370cc or larger injectors and ignition timing has to be set around 12-10 degrees before top dead center. Base timing is at 16 degrees which means you must retard your distributor (timing)4-6 degrees. that's what it says in the guide.
