Should i make the switch.

So i've finally finished my car, after years of picking away at it and i've found some bugs that i can't seem to eliminate.

First off the setup is an 90 Civic Si, B18B 57trim Turbonetics T3, 450's, OBDO, Stock map.

I'm currently using Turboedit, and it's just not as smooth as i want it to be, on initial startup, the idle surges, when the car is warmed up, and you shut it off say for 5 mins, when i restart it, it stalls, after revving it for a minute it will stay running fine, but it's annoying, also when cruising in anything but 5th, it bucks, usually it's between ~5-15 Hg..I've tried adjustment after adjustment and i just can't seem to get it smooth. It also runs rich on idle, and if i take out any more fuel, it won't start. Also, i can't for the life of me get datalogging to work.

I've got all of the ---- to switch to OBD1, dist, harness, o2, chipped P06. Am i better off to just swap over to OBD1 and run crome? Is it a better program? I want this to run as close to stock in terms of reliability, smoothness..Any input would be great.

Also if somebody has a TE Bin that they are running successfully that's smooth, with a similar setup to mine, if you could send me that to try out it would be great.

I've been in the same boat before. I have had a few EF's and ran both turboedit and crome. If you have all of the parts and you know they're in working order I'd say go for it and switch to obd1. But, on the other hand it sounds like its not the program or the fact that its obd0 but you just need to work on your tune. Are you tuning with a wideband what are the AFR's when its bucking and running like ----. I'm no tuning expert by any means but post your binfile and let a few people take a look at it

Re: Should i make the switch.

I'll post it up when i can, my tuning computer crashed taking all my software/bin files with it. This leads me to my newest problem, of being unable to alter the tune whatsoever.. I remember a while back people were saying that the idle surging on initial startup was a code problem with TE and wasn't really fixable. I guess my real question is, are any of you running turboedit without any hicups, smooth idle, smooth cruising, not too rich etc...

To alter your tune, use something like a willem chip burner to read the BIN from it.

OBD1 is much nicer, and there are much more programs available for it. Crome works, but if you're going to spend the money and you don't plan on tuning anyone else's car, I would buy eCtune.

Sounds like a tune is in order. It will take a car that you like, to a car that u love!

You can use bre for datalogging: http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewforum.php...4aea606ab8323d

There are two ls bin's that are close to your setup here: http://www.-------------/bins/index.p...tory=TurboEdit
