shift backfire???
 

well i got this customer with some interesting request. he has an EK9 that i work on and tune. after he fallowed me on the highway and saw my FD RX7 backfiring after full throttle shift, he fell in love and want me to make his ek do it. first of, my RX runs 11.2 A/f at WOT compare to 12.80 that i run on his. that why all that fuel detonates on my exhaust when i close the throttle.
i'm thinking about getting the car to about 11. a/f on column 1 from 7000 to 8500 and retard the ignition in the same cells (dont know how much yet) so when he let go gas extra fuel dumps on his exhaust. what do you guys think?? any one try this??? no particular reason to have this.. he just felt in love with the flame show.

Please please please i'm not traying to discuss why i should do that or that he is dumb or what eVERR.. just looking for straight up info or if you disagree please post a concrete reason why.. not just a simple that fucks your motor up type of stuff.

my bad tho you were being a smart ass, and thats what i didn't want in the first place.

if he wants it and willing to pay.. sure i could try, just don't want to pop no ones motor and have my small shops insurance sky rocket after a claim.

Sometimes you just need to say no to peoples outrageous requests. What do you tune rx7's with would a haltech unit work?

If you are looking for straight up install Haltech its pretty good. if you are looking to tune your self wolf3d all day, the software its really user friendly, i like it 10 thousand times better than haltech and controlling the trailing its easier on wolf. if you got a second gen haltech will allow you to keep you stock trailing coils, with wolf you will need to rewire new ignition modules and some other ----.
