Setting Distro ( running TE)
well, my timing is set at about 3 degress below TDC, can i set it at 16 degress and as the ECU sees boost it will retard it accordingly or do i have to set it to a lower setting? Did i make sense?
I know that when you run the hack you have to retard it for the sake of boost but does it matter when your running turbo edit? |
Re:Setting Distro ( running TE)
When running turboedit set the timing at the dizzy to stock, the ECU adjusts it wen it sees boost.

Re:Setting Distro ( running TE)
sweet...hey i missed out on that TE class..----! i been so busy around the house i havent had time to do ----. well, yesterday i reburned anoter chip on TE with a higher FTL set at 4000 RPM's ( i have the big ass Tbird Snail ) so it runs fine and i leaned it out a bit on idle cause it sat pig rich.
My buddy raLF has been helping me. |
Re:Setting Distro ( running TE)
I like to make the idle portion of the map like this, so I can make 100% sure that Ive got the timing spot on.
You dont have to put it at 15 like this one is, I probably did it to try and bring the idle down a c-hair. Just set that portion of the map to 16, and then set the dizzy to 16 with a gun. As always, make sure the car is fully warmed before setting. http://a5.cpimg.com/image/21/6C/3499...-01B000F1-.jpg |

Re:Setting Distro ( running TE)
I make it big enough to fully cover any potential idle conditions. So over to 14" vacuum will do it.
Although it seems rediculous to have 0 or - timing #'s at/or near WOT from <1500, it is needed to prevent mild ping when you tip-in off idle. |
