SAFC...stupid question

This may be a stupid question, but I'm having a hard time understanding the low and high throtle settings on the SAFC. Example...OK, lets say I set the low throtle to 25% and the high throtle to 75%. Now, I understand that if I am above 75% throtle, it will follow the map that is set up for Hi throtle. The part that I having a hard time with is the low throtle setting and what happens below the low throtle setting. My questions are....will the unit use ONLY the lo throtle map between 25% and 75%, and what does the unit do below 25%. Does it just leave things alone completely? Like I said, it may be a stupid question, but it will really help me out alot if anyone can enlighten me... :) Oh yeah, I did look at the Apex-i websight, and it doesn't really explain this....or mabe I'm just a dumbass and I need someone to explain it to me a different way than they do.

Yes, when you set the corrections for 75% it will use those settings at and above 75% throttle. It will do the same at 25% throttle. You can set corrections for low throttle also.

And will it leave everything alone when it's below 25%?

Re:SAFC...stupid question

No it wont. when you set the afc to 25% lo that means everything 25% and under is corrected for whatever you set it at. For the hi, if you set it at 75%, everything above 75% will be corrected for whatever you set it at. everything in between 25% and 75% will be the average i think. just look in the manual. its all there

Re:SAFC...stupid question

Its best to leave it it around 71/72% because thats about the point that the ECU would use to determine partial to full throttle change.

Like I said at the beginning of the thread...I did read the manual (all of it) and it doesn't make sense to me. But I think I'm getting it from what you guys have told me. I'm gonna go fiddle around with it somemore and see if I really am getting it...thanks for the help. If there is anything else that you think would help me, I'll love you forever.. :P

Re:SAFC...stupid question

Its always making a mathmatical average, it just leans toward your lo throttle setting more at lo throttle then it does in between the two.
Does that make sense?

Re:SAFC...stupid question

OK, that does make alot of sense. I guess I should tell you the issue that I'm having. I'm tring to get the car not to run lean at partal throtle. But it only seems to work for a short period of time. Lets say I'm crusing along at 40 mph in forth gear and I push the pedal to about 50%. (no downshift, almost kind of lugging the motor for a second) The mixture will go rich like it should, but then it will fall off into lean as soon as I build RPM and begin to boost. I keep turning the fuel up more and more but nothing seems to really help. It does change a little, but not as far as I need it to. Do I need a better fuel pump? I guess the other question would be, am I aiming for soich. (orange) when I'm boosting or should I be rich. (green)

Ideal would be right between stoich and rich, but i would go with rich so there's a less chance of detonation. Anyone correct me if im wrong please.
