SAFC, Injectors, and fuel rail

if you upgrade to a str fuel rail...will the car run like ---- until you put bigger injectors and tune it with a s-afc?...or could you just run fuel rail with bigger injectors? and do you have to have a aftermarket FPR and/or fuel pump?

You can pop in your fuel rail with no other mods, your car will run essentially the same.

A bigger fuel rail won't supply any more fuel to your engine, the injectors are still the bottleneck. You probably didn't even need a bigger fuel rail other than the bling factor.

the guy whos car i put it on only wanted it for the bling factor...but see after installing it on his car...it now drops idle to 300-500rpms...and i don't know why. someone on honda-tech told me to extend the fuel feed line and switch it from the passanger side to the driver side of the rail...other then that i don't know why it won't work...the only thig is...it came with this fitting for the end of the rail...you know on the oem fuel rail it has that yellow bulb looking thing on the end of it...well the str rail came with another bolt to put on the end of it instead on using that yellow thing...could that be the problem? and if we put bigger injectors and tune the car with a s-afc will we see a differance in power? it's a B18B...not much done to it right now but the basic I/H/E...he's ready to go turbo though so i figured putting the injectors on there now wouldn't hurt...

That thing with the yellow plastic(from what I was told) is some sort of "smoother" that smooths the flow of fuel. Sorry for the lack of technical explanation, but that's the answer I got about it when I was asking. :1

I don't think it would really make much of a difference without it, especially drop the idle that low, but I would keep it in the system for piece of mind. :l

You won't have any problems with the aftermarket fuel rail....even though the guy didn't need it. :P

i thought that thing on the end was like a check valve to keep fuel pressure in the rail for start up, but then again i never really looked at it that close

It is a fuel pressure pulsation damper. Ya it dampens any fuel pressure pulses to keep things nice and smooth, just like honda intended.
