SAFC-II Wire Identification

Hi Guys,

Just got my SAFC-II today and was just wondering if you can point out what all the wires in the harnes are?

I've got the following sorted:

Red - Power
White - Airflow
Yellow - Airflow (ECU side)
Black - Earth
Brown - Earth (ECU side)
Green - RPM Signal

This just leaves
Blue - (I think its O2 sensor)
Orange -
Pink -
Grey -
Purple (well purpleish) -

Thanks in advance.

It's the exact same as the S-AFC layout, except the extra purple wire is for your knock sensor.

Knock sensor? Maybe you could bring an old man up to speed with what the new AFC-II has to offer?

... and the blue wire is for a second MAF input on applicable cars. When you select sensor type PR-6 the AFC ignores the secondary input, but you can still use it to view sensor input - the most popular of which is the O2.

Yes, the S-AFC II has a knock sensor monitor. Check out this Ebay auction for some of the new features.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33597

And if you can read Japanese, check out Apexi's description of the S-AFC II ;D http://www.apexi.co.jp/products/electronics/super.html

Re:SAFC-II Wire Identification

Hey guys,

I've gotten this far now:

Black - Earth
Brown - Earth (near ECU)
White - MAP input
Yellow - MAP output (to ECU)
Green - RPM
Red - Power
Blue - O2
Grey - TPS

Leaves:

Orange?
Grey?
Pink?

I know its the same as the safc but i can't seem to find a site which has a complete wiring diagram for either one. The Apexi site it self the PDF's don't have the full listings of wires. They only show sumin like 5 out of 10 wires ... so what does the others do?

I may be having a stupid moment (more like week) but any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

The reason why Apexi's diagram doesn't show all the wires being used is because you don't need them for your ECU.. The S-AFCs are a universal Air Fuel Controller that support more than just Honda ECUs. On other manufacturer's ECUs those other wires might be used while the same wires that you use with a Honda ECU might be unused. Check out the wiring for Toyotas and Nissians and you'll see.

In short the "extra" wires are for non Honda ECUs, don't worry about them, just hook it up exactly like the Apexi diagram shows you too!
