running a basic setup.

hi i have never posted here before just browsed and checked stuff out.
well no i grabbed me my turbo and am looking for different ways to run a cheaper and more basic setup.

i have a IHI RHB5 turbo, and am gonna be rebuilding and swapping in a D16Z6 (stock) into my 4th gen hatchback.im not sure yet if i want the vtec on a toggle switch or run a vafc.
if i have a vafc will this throw off my turbo setup or could i use the stock injectors and setup all run off the vafc.?

now i know i am still needing exhaust manifold, piping and intercooler, manifold flange , down pipe.

well my question is HOW reliable is the FMU with stock injectors? i read places and poeple say its fine i hear alot that its not reliable, but can someone explain why to me? i am looking to run only stock PSI on the turbo(7-8psi)
and also what kinda chip can i use for this kinda setup.
i am still trying to understand some of the more tech stuff, my one buddy was telling me about running the FMU with stock injectors. or could i use 1st gen B16 injectors?

-d16z6
-rhb5 turbo
-dsm intercooler
-fmu

any help is much appreciated, even if its a little hard to explain and you could throw me towards a good link.

Thanks.
